Star Wars Epic Duels
In this game, there are 12 major characters, and each of them is accompanied by one or more than one minor characters. The game play of this game is actually based on a system of card- centered combat. There are decks of 31 cards for each set of characters. In the decks, there are 3 types of cards; they are special cards, power combat cards and basic combat cards. There are two rules for basis combat cards, one for defending, and one for attacking. The power combat cards have combat values, and there are additional effects, which give the characters different special abilities. Apart from them, there are some special cards, which the different characters to do unique things. These unique things are extra movement, drawing or discarding cards, and some extra damage. Each player in this game tries to maintain a hand of cards from their own respective decks, which are used during the game. The display of each character cards reveals how much damage the minor and the major cards can take before they fully destroyed. Each character, in this game, uses a wound marker in order to track the damage of their character cards. The main objective of this game is to destroy the major cards of your opponents. During the game play, the players alternate their turns through rolling the die, moving their characters and after that performing two actions. In this game, an action is defined in the rulebook as drawing a card, playing a card, and healing a character. A character can be healed only through discarding a card of a destroyed minor or major character. There are different ways to play this game. You can play with 1 to 1, 2 to 2, or 3 to 3 or you can play 3 to 6 players.
Despite the fact that the game was out of the market by 2004, there is a large flow of short-loved game in the internet. There are different fan club sites, groups and different forums, which still discuss and analyze about this board game. As Habro has not announced any plans to expand this game, many different fans have taken upon themselves to create custom decks, which can be used with this game. A similar star war board game has been released by the Wizard of the Coast, and it is called Star War Miniatures.
