Buccaneer board game
Before beginning the game, it is very important to understand the playing technique and the board-detail. Otherwise, you might get into trouble while you are playing the game with concentration. The Buccaneer playing board portrays the sea, with parts of the board broken into squares. The outlining boundaries are conversed with ports. Players have to buy few ports and other ports that are not the players’ are considered as “free ports”. There is a “treasure island” at the center of the game board and 5 realistic looking resources of gold, diamonds, pearls, rubies and rum barrels are located in the board.
Players receive points for each treasure they collect. You would get 4 points for gold, 5 points for diamond, 3 points for pearls, 2 points for barrels and 5 points for rubies. Every player would get a ship by which they will navigate to the Treasure Island. After reaching the destination, they have to choose a “chance card”. Instructions and guidelines are given in these cards. These cards may turn out to be favorable or unfavorable. That will depend on your luck. Suppose you have got good result, then you would get to see(“ you are blown to cliff creek”) on your card or if bad, you would see (“ take treasure up to 5 in total value”).Players will have to place the treasure inside their plastic ship. This plastic ship is able to hold minimum two treasures, so it is vital that high scoring loot be carried by the ship. Then you have to return to your home port to deliver your treasure, and return your crew at another port.
While you are playing, remember that you might be attacked by other players. Game play involves these attacks, attack is necessary to gain dominance over a certain treasure. if you are the first person who will acquire 5 treasures too soon, you will be the winner of the game. However, Buccaneer game includes several versions, with the format of the game changing with the successive versions. There are vast differences between 1960s game and 1990s game. these changes include relocation of the ports, 24 x 24 squares to 20 x 20 squares along with players changing procedure. Earlier, 6 players used to play the game together. Nowadays, you can only play the game with maximum 4 players. Several versions of Buccaneer are available online as well. You can choose any of them; they are equally interesting. Winning the game requires concentration, and tactical skill, and if play your moves right, the treasure is all yours!
